Behind the Music: The Journey of Antjuan 'Kyd Dynomyte' Johnson

Born and raised in Nashville, it’s no surprise Antjuan “Kyd Dynomyte”Johnson landed his first career opportunity playing bass in a local nightclub he worked at. At the green age of 15, he went from washing dishes, to playing for a variety of artist that would frequent the popular Nashville R&B venue. It was during this time, that Antjuan had found his true passion, all while learning the ropes from those who were industry veterans around him.

Since then, Antjuan has toured and worked in the studio with artists and professionals such as Keb Mo, Jelly Roll, Gordon “Commissioner Gordon” Williams, and many others. A multi-instrumentalist with many talents, he also works as a singer-songwriter, and producer. After years of “hired gun” work under his belt and a change of heart, Antjuan is eager to share his own music with the public. He’s spent many years on the road, and he now wants to tell these stories through his music.

Antjuan’s down-home Tennessee roots are seeped deep within his singing, songwriting, and playing. He draws from a variety of genres such as blues, soul, singer-songwriter, and hiphop, but the core of his music is heavily focused on emotional storytelling.

2024 brings the turning of a page for Johnson, as he shifts his focus to captivating an audience and fan base who will appreciate honesty in his lyrics, passion in his playing, and a place to call home in his voice.
